The deterioration of my English...

I am not trying to offend anyone here, it is just that since I have joined Mylot, I have noticed (as have several of you have here also), that English is not the same everywhere else. And so, when I read the discussions and responses that others have written, I slowly begin to absorb what I am reading. I have noticed that I am now making mistakes that I have not made since I was a child, and that I am having a difficult time writing what I want to write or expressing myself as easily as I used to. So, if you read anything that I have written anywhere on Mylot, that is incorrect please bear with me, for it will take some time before I shed the "bad habit" I have just picked up, and go back to my old self. :)

It's because mylot is a community of people from different countries and whose mother tongue is not English. For me, it's okay to read responses even if the grammar isn't correct. I'm sure in time their English will improve especially now that they are able to practice it here at myLot. The important thing is that they are able to communicate their thoughts and feelings. Cheers!

Yes, that is so true, and I am glad that we have people from all around the world, or this place might lose a lot of its appeal if everyone is from only the U.S or the U.S. and Canada. So, it is a privilege to share this community with the rest of the globe. Even, if it takes us all a while to better communicate, as you say, at least we get the chance to.

I think the reason for the different english is because there are people from all over the world on mylot so you're bound to pick up new things. I've been cutting off some words and sentences here and there, and sometimes my sentences don't make any sense anymore either. But I hope I could also shed my bad habit as well.

Yes, I have been having a bit of broken-English-syndrome too, lol, but it is interesting to me, also, because I love the study of English, so I am enjoying the fact that I can experience it as if I were learning it for the first time. A very enlightening experience. :)

I'm one from those write English with incorrect grammar and many mistakes. I’m trying really hard to improve my English and I haven’t any problem if anyone correct my writing! I hope you find your old self fast because I try learning from good English speaking people here. You don’t know how difficult was for me understand the meaning of: lol, lil, hubby……and many more short cut of words.

Thanks for not thinking that we are all a bunch of conceited people who think highly of ourselves, sometimes, it takes a while for all of us to adjust to each other, but once we do, it is great.

That happens to me too--so as with the spelling and the grammar
