American opinions of other countries

January 11, 2007 8:38pm CST
Being a citizen of a neighbouring country to the U.S., I know that my fellow Canadians seem to have rather strong opinions of the U.S. Having travelled fairly extensively throughout the world, it would seem that that opinion is echoed in many other countries. Personally, my own opinion of the U.S. is not quite as harsh as that of others. But, I'm curious, what do Americans think of other countries? Canada? United Kingdom? Germany? Japan? etc. As this topic could potentially lend itself to being offensive, please post respectfully.

This proves that the individual perceptions vary drastically from the politically motivated national perceptions. But for the same reason, we should not take individual perceptions to generalise. To fill in the gaps, I wish more people from the US, with different views, respond to this.

This is really a debatable question
