I've heard of so many people who get high on cold medicines. It makes me wonder how safe they are if children can get high on them and die. How often do you use cold medicines? Do you think cold medicines are safe?

My mom always gave us cold medicine for children when we were younger. Like Tylenol, Robitussin.. I think if your doctor reccommends it, it's safe. But I always try to stay away from medicines as much as I can just because I don't like taking medicine for every little thing. Because too much is not good. I only take an aspirin if I have a really bad headache or I'll take cold medicine if I'm really sick with a cold or flu.

Well the ones that I have had yes they have been safe and when my Kids where little I would only give them the Childrens ones which I knew they where safe. I used to only ever have Lemsips and they used to work wonders. Now I have to have Medication from the Doctor all the time because of my Illness.

I think that used in moderation they are probably safe, but I really am not that big on the idea of medicines for this and that and everything under the sun. My body tends to react more strongly to certian chemicals and things than most people's do, and I have to be careful of medicines as it is, and I feel that we are only hurting ourselves by plying our bodies with tons of medicine for every little ache and pain under the sun. There are lots of herbal remedies and other things that can also help with a lot of common ailments, and are much safer and healthier for us. I really haven't done as much research into these things I would like, but there is plenty of information out there on the internet if anyone else is interested.
