It depends on the age. Our three year old gets popped with our hand and sits on the couch for a few minutes. Our older kids write a sentence we give them about how to correct their problem at least for an hour. It really all depends on what they are being stubborn about. One time our ten year old didn't want to clean her room right so we stood over her and made her really go over everything.

Raising kids is definetly a pain taking thing.but never punish kids .they will repeat the things in the same mamnner. my child is very active and makes lot of notty things .some time i can't control my anger but never beaten her.i will handle things in cool way. we have to talk to them and make to obey us.

punishing the children is a way of disciplining them and as long as your punishment is justifiable, it is really ok. children basically have their periods of being stubborn, they will soon get over with it. just enjoy your time with them, anyway, they will not be for ever kids.
