I have observed my number ranking (94/100) dropped once. After that it came up again. I did not experience any star demotion yet. I was happy my star was promoted to a blue 10 star last week.

Well I'm not sure. I think if you have a lot of negative ratings and not enough good ratings to off set it then you will go down. The problem comes in you get some who will put a negative rating just because they don't like your view point. It's a shame that happens. Hopefully though your rating will go back up soon.

hi cnetboss!
I think being active is one thing to maintain your star rating as well as the credible respond you made and how you rate others and gave your best response to your discussion that started and it keeps your rating as is.
Being negatively mark really affect our star rating but doing posting enthusiastically made the rating increased.
But I see it's 9 now so you have one step close to your 10. Goodluck and thanks for responding in my discussion.

The star works on how other people rate your discussions and replies. I think the key to having a high rating is don't have opinions. I have noticed that when I have an opinion that is contrary to either the OP or someone who has replied my rating drops!
