... I am going to follow them and respond to their discussions? I don't want to accept a friend just for the sake of being friends if they are thinking I am just going to follow them around and post to their discussions. So, here on myLot, do you think it is best not to accept friends unless you are willing to respond to their discussions. I have a couple of friends here that I would invite to my house so I would really classify them as friends but others I don't even know at this point.

When I first started I was just accepting but now that I have been here a while and figured out somethings I only accept if I like some of their disscussions. I recently went through my list giving everyone holiday greetings and realized that some of these people are not even on here anymore. I personally respond to my friends faithfully and although most don't do the same it really doesn't matter to me.

All friends are good. I guess you should be more selective in accepting friends I know I am. Do you check out their profiles first to see anything that intrigues you about them or do you just accept? I check first. Guess you don't always have to respond to their discussions - perhaps just the one's that interest you. lol

I agree with your FeralWoman that you need to check out these requests for friends and pick them wisely. Looking at their discussions to see if they are worth having as a friend is about the best advice. thanks as usual FeralWoman

I accept anyone that asks. I try to reply to as many of their discussions as possible, but only if I feel some sort of connection with the topic. If they don't like how much I respond, they are free to delete me. I figure nothing ventured, nothing gained. I love to make new friends, so it never hurts to add them. If they post a lot of really spammy stuff, I'll delete them later.

Hey BlueSkies my friend. :) I find it hard to visit the discussion of all the friends I have now without taking on more. I just feel that if I can't respond to their posts I am not being much of a friend. By saying that I mean answering their good post, not the ones I am not interested in. I feel bad denying a request but I find alot of members request but they have never responded to a single post of mine. So they don't know me and I don't know them so it seems silly just to accept them. I hope that makes sense. It sounded good in my head. :)
