Whether Mahatma is responsible for India-Pak divide in 1947 ???

Some people is having the opinion that gandhi is fully responsible for the division of india into two states in 1947...Actually he had done a lot for the independence of india...what do u think..is he responsible for the division or is the division really favoured india..????

I dont think Mahatma gandhi is not responsible for the india Pakistan division because there are many evidences in the history that he wanted india to be undivided,
Secondly,he was the only person who visited all the disputed areas where there were critical voilence was going on.
dont this show that he was not responsible for the diviaion of India
