Does your indoor neutered male cat still go into heat?

I've had many tomcats in my life and never came across this problem. He doesnt spray or yell, he simply grabs the back of my spayed females' necks and hops on! He hasnt a clue as to what he is doing, just holds her and shakes his back legs - LOL! However, Miss Kitty is not amused and it generally ends up in a semi-cat fight when she breaks free. The vet said he'll outgrow it, but he's now 7 yrs old and still goes for it! Do your indoor neutered toms do the same?

A neutered cat doesn't lose the 'urge' to mate .. it just takes away his making kittens ... My male cat used to be full of himself when any of the neighbours cats went into heat ... heheh he had a real 'caveman' yodelling call .. ohh heck I'd think there he goes off 'tomming' again .. lock up your kitties .. I think this is a case of boys will be boys ...

I had to laugh at your comment about : " there he goes off tomming again, lock up your kitties"..hehe!!! I have a male kitty and even though he's neutered he will still hop onto the female cat and do his thing. I used to think male cats stopped doing this upon being neutered, or is that just the dogs??

My neutered male cat still hops on my soayed femalesd and does what I call a "war dance" on her. He has no idea what he is doing, but he feels he has to. The vet explained some males have such a strong instinct to mate, that neutering doesn't stop them. Thanks goodness I had him done!

my husband bob and our sweet little tom cat - here is my cat guiness who keeps mounting my labrador and also has had a go at a lamp post, a chicken, a turkey (frozen) and a duck
i think its cos cats are very strange animals. ANYONE WHO lives with them for only a short while knows this. I have a tom cat who keeps trying to mount my labradoor male dog, his answer is to sit down. Its effective as a pssion killer
