Could Animal Farm Serve As A Warning For "We The People Of The United States?"

How do you see George Orwell's Animal Farm?
Do you see it as simply a satire directed at one particular totalitarian government, or are there lessons in there that should be heeded by those of us living in the democracy known as The United States Of America?
In short, could Animal Farm happen here, even with all of the safety components in place?
Why or why not?
If so, what are your ideas on how it might be done--as well as ideas on how it might already be getting put into place?

I started a similar topic myself a few weeks ago. Look it up. Thers a respons saying, that "Animal farm" desgribes the Russian revolution.
Although it may desgribe events that took place touring Russian revolution, I think that the book caries somekind of a worning. It has been said, that "revolution eats her cildren".
I'm not american, but i think that things like that can't hapen in America. Why? Because situation in america and situation in Russia 1917-1918 are very different. If somekind of regime could be installed in america, than i rather think it would look like the police state in "V for Vendetta" (wich, by the way suposedly bases a little on Orwels other well known book "1984".

Thanks for being the first person to respond to this discussion. In your opinion, what would be required for a country to be in danger of becoming like either the situation in Animal Farm or 1984 (or, in some ways, both)? Can you name any countries that might be at risk for this happening within their boundaries and give your reasons for believing this to be so?

Animal farm was wrote about the Russian revolution as he said were the dictator was over through but the ones taking power became worse then the original ones.I really don't see how animal farm relates to the united states at all based on this .We here vote on our leaders and there is no idea who the next president well be plus we have 3 branches of government as a fall safe to keep it from happening . Can you explain how the USA could possible be like animal farm ?
