Have you ever experienced an earthquake?

Share your story! I have never experienced an earthquake..I did feel some teeny tiny aftershocks of one but I was a good distance away from where it actually occurred so it was quite minor. What I felt while sitting on the floor of a 3rd floor apartment was sort of like sitting on a raft and having a small wave going under it ( it was just a tiny one) it didn't feel like a shaking that I would have thought it would.. It must be really scary to be close to and experience a much larger quake!!

I live in Los Angeles and I have been in quite a few earthquakes. They are really scary, at first you do not realize it is an earthquake. By the time you figure out what is happening, everything has finished falling and things dont shake anymore.

Ah yes, living there I would expect you have few a few..I would be pretty scared...Do you worry about a big one in LA?

ya during my 12th std classes,i was in the classrom of some 400 students and we were sitting on the floor,suddenly we started feeling movements and within flash of second we came to know that it was earthquake,it lasted for almost 30 sec,all guys and gals had started screaming by that time,that was terrible experience

it was the first time I had ever experienced this kind of tremor and it was ... who have lost a loved one in this earthquake. Our prayers are with you all

I have, I live in Indonesia, the earthquake is in Aceh and Jogjakarta, I work in a social foundation that helps the victims
