I have noticed that the last few years that I have had a computer and Internet access I watch a lot less TV than I used to. In the past when I was bored or had some time alone at home I would channel surf but now I find Internet surfing is so much more interesting.. What about you? Has the Internet changed your Tv watching habits at all?

I defintely watch less television. The internet is a better way to pass time, because you can interact. When I am on the internet it is almost as if I am looking for something all the time. With television, you just watch what is showing, you cannot do much else.

good point about interaction...And yes so much to look for lol..I can start by looking up one subject and then that will lead me to something else and so on and so on...

I do not watch TV at all. I do not have or pay for cable TV service. The only time I sit in front of the television is to watch rented movies. I love to use the internet. I learn so much more and exercise my brain!

Say your living-room TiVo captured a show that you want to watch later on the TiVo-less TV set in the basement. Done, too. Or say -- sneaky fella -- you

Yes. I definitely watch less tv because I spend so much time on the internet *laugh* I also can't seem to find as many good American programs nowadays that really hold my interest. I do watch a lot of British TV that I collect from the internet, but I still don't even spend as much time doing that as I would someitmes like because I get so involved with spending time online and spending time here at Mylot specifically these past couple of weeks since I joined *laugh*

I definitely watch a lot less tv. I usually have the tv on while I'm on my laptop, but I don't pay much attention to it.

yes, that's another thing, reading. in fact I'm in the middle of the davinci code which I started last september. Before the internet I would have finished it. And I also try to earn money online although so far it hasn't worked out too good - at least not yet!

It has changed mine dramaticly. Before we got the internet, we had tv's playing in everyroom. Now they mostly come on when the kids watch cartoons are we are watching the news. We have two tv's that I dont think as been turned on in about a year.

It has changed it alot. 2 or 3 times a week there were shows that I had to watch such as Gilmore gils, seifeld, friends Boston High. And it's not even the internet itself because I had webtv for a couple of years. But since I got this laptop there are no tv shows that I have to watch except Tiger games in the summer. And my internet use has even gone up more since I foound mylot.

I don't watch much TV at all. I read all my news online and watch videos online. There are a couple TV shows I watch, but often I'll watch those online too. ABC streams a bunch of shows free online now. If I want to watch a show or movie I'll using just use my DVR and watch it when I feel like it. I rarely watch programs while they are airing.

I used to watch tv regularly, but since I discovered the internet I watch it much less. It's a good thing, as I'm less prone to snacking while I'm on the computer. Now, it takes a high-quality show to pull me away from the computer.
