I am studing Computer Engineering(1st year). I post here to know if anyone has an idea on how to start on Game programming from the very beginning coz I've found several sites & tutorials on this subject , but all of them assume that u have a background on something , I am wondering if any one can guide me to a site or tutorial or post the name of a book which assumes only u have the desire to program a game , or if anyone has experience in game programming can tell me how to start Thanks in advance

I think the get in that industry is quite diifficult but once you're in it could be the best job of the world. So computer engineering is a good start i think, but offcourse you have to be busy with while you are not at school and i don't think it's easy to find programs for programming games. I searched for a while and i found things, but it was all so little. If you look at the games in the game industry that comes out on ps2 or Pc, than you know that maybe over 100 people worked on it for more than a year! And they have computers, so good, you don't wanna come down there with your pc i think. Maybe you got to mail and search for local game programmers, so you'll catch up with them or something.
