How do you leash-train a cat?

Leash training is not as hard as it looks. Be sure that you have a long enough leash that is made for a cat of course.. :) Pick up your cat and put the lease on it, but be sure you take the kitty outside at that time. Just let the cat lead you. Mine will meow everytime I bring out the leash now. You can also start by opening a window and let them get accustomed to the outside and then do the leash. Just remember though if it is the first time they go outside they are very squeamish. But it will take a little time. I hope this helps you. Good luck

Oh and yes they do fight for a little while. Its like getting a new collar.

I don't know. I never had luck with that. I have had alot of cats and have tried it before. But they flip out. So I gave up.

I'm not quite sure but bribing them might work. My cats are too old to be leash trained so I haven't actually tried.

I wish you a lot of luck with this one! I don't know if any cat would go along with being on a leash- at least not any of the ones that I have had. Cats are known for doing what they want, when they want to do it. I think that you would have a fight on your hands. I hope the cat is declawed! LOL

I have never seen a cat on a leash. I don't think I would like o put my cat on a leash.
