Why people called their country as Motherland not Fatherland

Can anyone give me the answer of the question why people call their country as Motherland instead of Fatherland.....

A MAN IS BORN BY HIS/HER MOTHER AND TOOK CARE BY MOTHER.THE BORNING PROCESS IS DONE BY MOTHER SO WE CALLED IT MOTHERLAND AND THE COUNTRY IS ALSO AS A MOTHER IN WHICH WE ARE BORN SO WE CALLED IT A MOTHERLAND.
