How many people here buy secondhand clothes? I don't mean undergarment though. I see these as too personal and I buy these brand new. My husband thinks I'm a whizz trapsing through Savemart, and after seriously looking at the clothes make my selection wisely. Spending well under $30 for us.

I have never boughten any clothes from a second hand store. I have recently started to go to them with a friend...but haven't been able to bring myself to buy anything other than a set of knives...now I just have to bring myself to use them. I don't consider myself a snob, I just have a hard time using other peoples stuff. You just don't know what others have done with it. I am trying though!

That was an interesting comment. But each to their own as the saying goes. Thanks for that.

i do! i'm used to hand-me-downs, having a sister who's just a year older than i. i go to thrift/discount stores often enough because i could find some really nice pieces without having to pay a lot.

All of my sons hand me downs goes straight to the second hand shop. He asks me why, and I say there are other children out there who need them. But only if they are worth taking in do I take them in.

I absolutely love thrift stores we have a few here where I live and I am constantly dragging my mom and sister to them. My motto is why pay for new ones when you can get clothes just as good for half the price or less. Sometimes we even get lucky and find clothes that still have tags on them which is a treat. I think 85% of my clothes I own have been previously owned by someone else. I find no shame in it at all. just good sense!

I only buy my clothes at Goodwill. I was just there today and got eight sweaters, a pair of pants, some blouses and a jacket all for under thirty dollars. And it's all good, quality stuff. Some GAP, some Tommy Hilfigger, some Eddie Bauer... you can't beat second hand prices. I love it.
