Convenient Stores and Gas Stations...

I live in Northern Va. and one thing I see more than anything are convenient stores and gas stations. A block with a gas station on every corner, or 7 11's literally every 1 or 2 blocks apart from one another. I actually saw a 7 11 gas station and a regular 7 11 with no gas station. Why? Why are does this happen, I mean that's some serious competition, why would an owner put themselves in this situation so closely?

I don't understand that, either. It doesn't seem to make much sense to me that a 7'11 would have a gas station and a regular store almost next to each other, lol! THey really are competing with themselves that way. I wonder really how gas stations survive in this day and age of gas prices being so high and there being so much competition out there There must be enough people on the roads (and from what I've seen, whoo boy are there *laugh*) needing gas that it really is profitable to haev a gas station on almost every corner in some places in the USA. Otherwise, they wouldn't be there, and wouldn't have stuck around this long, I guess! But it does almost boggle the mind! ^_^
