Does your Persian cat keep you up all night?

We have a 4 year old Persian cat. Had it since it was 5 weeks. It's full blooded and registered. It like to be petted and loved on all of the time. It is great company. The biggest problem is it sleeps most of the day and up all night. It wakes me up to pet it several times a night. If you don'e pet it, it won't quit meowing and drive you nuts!

I had a black Persian for 19 years. He was not a Peke-faced Persian, though. He was a Traditional Persian. He never woke me up at night. He mostly kept watch in the front room window to guard the house. Then he'd make the rounds of the other windows and go back to the front room.

My sister had a blue cream persian cat for a long time. I don't think I ever heard her meow. She was more of a flopper. She parked herself somewhere and wouldn't move for hours on end. My calico-tabby is another story. She likes to snuggle and kiss me. She will step on me and sit on my chest if I am sleeping to get her way. She also likes to step on my head. She is very vocal when she wants something. She likes to hide by the recliner chair and pop out at my legs and bat at them.

I think that's the job of ANY cat... not just Persians! LOL Although I think I pretty much have most of my cats trained to sleep at night for the most part.

none of mine is persian. But I have same problem as you. They are night owls as well. They will come in my room and start doing stuff to get me up. Like knocking things off my dresser and desk. I don't want them to break my stuff. But it is hard to keep it out of their reach. Oh by the way I have a couple male cats I'll give ya if ya take em off my hands. You say your going nuts? ha ha ha
