How do you generate traffic to your websites? I'm confused

I just joined this site that promises an easy way to generate traffic, build downlines and all that.
After signing up, all I can see is a whole bunch of ads from others wanting me to sign up and I am completely lost.
If anyone here is using this same site, please let me know if you have some tips for me.

That is excatly what the original site is for. Its an MLM. Their goal is to have you generate traffic for them through your trying to get your frineds to join. then, when you can't make enough money, you quit without getting paid and they keep all the names you have given them in their database. Its a scam.
The only traffic you get is from otherpeople thinking they are goign to make money too. They have all been told the same thing you were told, and they just keep spamming EACH OTHER!

Thank you. I just opened it and got pages and pages of links to other sites, probably mostly scams.
I know there are some real ones but just haven't found them. I need a few more people in my downline at BCR so I can make some serious money on there. Will have to look somewhere else for them :).
