Good idea or bad idea?

Aside from obvious inhumane and moral issues, would it be a good idea to allow the homeless and poor to enter contests where they would fight to the death (kind of like gladiator)...where the people who paid to see would provide the prize money for the victor, offering a service for both ending suffering AND a charitable cause. I know it's kind of sick, but someone humor me.

I believe this was done in ancient Rome and look what happened to their civilization.

What happened ? They just conquered the entire known world and were the greatest ever empire ! They had bring the civilizations everywhere not murders as americans. I don't understand even now what business had US in vietnam !! Rome had just few stupid emperors that burned the City, but the others had other moral profile and kept the light of civilization in the world until now. THAT means to have 2000 years of history not only a silly 400 ...

Well thats what the guys who started the "bum fights" dvds did. I believe they have been banned now. and there was rumor, that they were giving 20% of the profits, to homeless shelters. Is it wtrong, i think so. but thats me :)

You remember me of the North Korea that kills the newborn babies that have different health issues. They say they "have no people with health problems ..."
