Well, first off, I found my 5year old son and his father in Louisanna!!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO. I've already contacted the courts. Two, My sister has been found, and she's alive, but still very addicted to drugs. But she's ALIVE!Third, We have scheduled to have my fathers funeral the beginning of Febuary!!! I'll be relieved to get this done!Fourth, we are pumping hundreds, if not thousands of water out of my basement right now, and dousing everything in BLEACH, YUCK. So, hopefully by mid-week we will have gotten rid of atleast most of the mold. Thank you so much to all of you that have responded and tried to help me with all my problems! I truly appreciate it!!! I really really do!Now, if you have a problem you need help with, please feel free to post it and I will help you the best I can! Thank you so very much EVERYONE!

I am delighted to hear all your good news Stephanie, you deserve a break as you seem to have been through the mill. It is a pity that you have to pump the water yourself, as I feel this is a job for your landlord. If I were you, I would present him with a big bill for all the work you have had to do. I hope everything keeps going well for you, and be careful you don't catch cold with all the damp and the windows open. Hopefully you will get your windows sorted out next.

At this point the windows can wait, this mold is horrible! I'm going to present him with a bill, that's for sure! Thank you very much for your well wishes! I really appreciate it! Have a great day!

The windows can wait???!!! Aren't you caught in those record cold temps and ice storms? I know the standing water and mold are a more important concern, but the windows are important too. And your landlord sounds like a jerk who will disappear until the rent is due again. If you catch up to him, give him a prioritized list of what needs to be done. Then check around for a tenants rights association in your area and see what you can legally do to force him to fix your home. As I said in my earlier post, the health district may be a good place to start.

I can't get ahold of him for nothing. I'm going to go to his work today. I don't know why he's not answering his phone, maybe he's out of town or something. We have a major mold problem that concerns me worse than the windows, so hopefully I can get in touch with him today! Thank you for your concern and well wishes! I hope things continue to get better too! THank you so very much! Take care!

That is some truly amazing news Stephanie! I am so happy for you and your family. Are you going to try to get your sister into rehab? Sorry about the water and the mold. Mold sucks and smells bad. Just be careful inhaling the bleach fumes. Ventilate well. Hugs to you!

Thank you! Well, she's in Tennessee and I'm in Indiana, so I can't make her go to rehab. She's in quite a bit of trouble with the police there and is supposed to be turning herself in today to serve her time (which will give her time to sober up), she will end up serving atleast a year most likely. So, hopefully that will be enough time for her to get clean and hopefully stay clean. Yes mold does stink! UGH. And the bleach is horrible too, we have all the doors open and fans going, and it's freezing! But, you gotta do it, right? I think we really need the fresh air anyhow. I hope we get this done soon! Thank you so much for your care and concern. Take care and have a great day!

I am sooo glad to hear that you found your son. And your sister, sorry to hear that she is still addicted. Also sorry to hear about your father. That also sucks about the water. As far as advice, keep spraying everything down with bleach. That will get rid of the mold and mildew and all the bacteria that could lurk in the dark damp basement. another things you can do is take some kind of disinfectant to spray down everything that is not as harmful as bleach. I do not recommend lysol, I personally do not think that lysol works as well as it claims to.
