Are any of you moms who not only watch your kids play, but you either coach and/or play yourself?? My husband and I play (well..played..until I got pregnant a few months ago) on several teams together. I also coach a girls team, and help with my son's team. I'm hoping this baby is a girl as well, so I can coach a team for each of them!! I mus tsay, its tough to watch the hubby play when I cant be out there playing with him. (Its actually how we met too!)

at what age can kids play on a team? Courtney is 2 and she LOVES to play with a ball. its like an obsession of hers. i think she's definately too young right now, but i want to get her into sports, i just dont think she'll share the ball with the other girls! if anyone is holding a ball, she HAS to have it or its the end of her little world!!

depends on whether they do indoor our outdoor, and the rules in your area..most of hte time its at age 4 though. there is an indoor arena around here that will let them play at age 3, and the best part is its year round!! tough part, games are on saturdays and can be as early as 730am in the winter!!! YIKES!

Did the term 'Soccer Mom' get started this way? Now-a-days I hear the term 'Soccer Mom' being referred to mothers who have to be involved in every social function with their kids in transit and are super organized and the such. So not me, I wish dearly, but i was just curious what was your opinion. Thanx.

My daughter was on a soccer team in Oklahoma City. I can't remember what group that she was with but their soccer team was called the squirells. I loved helping out and watching her play.
