We're on for six months and get married because I get pregnant...now we have 3 children and 15 years of marriage.

My EXhusband and I knew each other in college for about a year before we got married. We remained married for about 17 years, although towards the end it was a marriage of convenience to keep a "family" in tact until he got violent.
Honestly, I think it really depends on the people as to whether or not you should marry quickly or date for long periods. I've known both extremes and in both cases seen divorce and long marriages of happiness.

I courted my wife for a year before we married and that was 37 years ago so we did something right!

I am not yet married but I am currently in a relationship right now and we are dating for 3 years. No plans yet of getting married but we enjoy each others company so I guess that's what's most important. We don' want to ruch into things since we don't have a stable job yet.
