hazards of laserjet printers

My former collegue has said to me that she is now located near the printer in their office. Her officemates always asks her if she doesn't feel anything peculiar being in front of the printer. She asked me if it's safe to be in that area. What dou you think? Can prolonged exposure to laserjet printers could be hazardous to health?

As far as I know it is safe. After all... you are not expose to it. The laser light is inside the printer. You don't see it. I have a laserjet printer on my desk for the last 10 years. As well as a scanner which works with a laser light. Your CD Rom, DVD Ram, and DVD player works with a laser light. I think the people in the office might be having a joke at the expense of your friend. They are trying to spook her... and it seem to work.
