Pink Floyd- Best and Worst?

Doing a bit of personal research here. At the time I thought people were so uncritical of Floyd that it was a joke. Smarmy little reviews, with the odd outbreak of relevance about once an album. So, since the dust has settled- 1. Best tracks? 2. Worst tracks? 3. Now that Syd Barrett (may he RIP, great songwriter) has moved on, it's pretty clear that a lot of his fans didn't like the direction Floyd took after he left. Opinions of the Barrett era Floyd, and the musical issues.

Well, it is all personal opinion, but... Best tracks: Sorrow, Possible Pasts, See Emily Play, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Wish You Were Here Worst tracks: I honestly can't think of any. I'm not too fond of Up The Khyber, though. I'm one of those fans who prefers the Barrett era of Floyd. I do like plenty of their songs from after he left, but Syd brought something to that band that could never be duplicated or replaced.

Yeah, he was definitely the real songwriter in the band. The pity of it is that it's hard to visualize his songs squashed in among the later Floyd stuff. It was just too much of a musical dichotomy. I don't know if you've heard his solo stuff, but it is mindblowing. There's even a bit of James Joyce (Golden Hair) put to music.
