I was looking on the internet for some answers for the best treatment for split ends. All of them told me to get my hair trimmed but I was looking for another route. Right now my schedule is too crammed to stay at a salon for a long time and appointments are too costly. Please help me out with any advice that you have. Thanks in Advance.

Thanks. I use Pantene too. and VO5 for Split Ends, but nothing seems to work. I heard about mayonaisse but that seems like a little too much for me. It'd rather get my hair trimmed even though I love the style it is now. I guess I'm just afraid that the stylist will not cut it the way I want it to end up looking.

After shampooing add a few drops of olive oil or aloe vera to your hair to prevent split ends .More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/splitend.html

i think there is no treatment for the split ends.i too suffered from it.the one thing that can be done is trimming.trimming once in 3 months will help you. Once a hair is split, the end has to be cut off to avoid further splitting of the strand.

The only way to get rid of split ends is to trim your hair. Split ends are actually damage to the hair, and will spread up the hair shaft if you ignore it. There are products that will tame frizzy hair or split ends, but they won't solve the problem, and the damage is still there. Healthy hair requires minimal maintenance, and part of that is to trim the ends consistently- at least every 8-10 weeks. You have to take a little bit of time out for yourself. Is there a place near you where you can walk in without an appointment? I see that you are in the U.S., so one of the chains like SuperCuts or Fantastic Sams might be a place to check out.

As far as I know, trimming your hair is the only solution because I don't think there is anything that is able to fuse the splits together. Perhaps, while waiting till you have time to go to the hairdresser's, you can use hair conditioner each time you wash your hair to prevent it from getting worse. Hope this helps some.
