God, can you make more money?

My 6 year old grandson has been asking why his Papaw has to work so many hours and I tell him Papaw has to make money to pay for things like our house, food, clothing, etc. So last night my grandson is saying his prayers and This is it. "Thank you, God for my family, my toys, the earth, making all the great things, for my church and friends. And thank you God for making money...(small pause)...but can you make some more of it? Amen" Isn't it just like a kid to say thinking?

Amen, little bro!!! Your grandson has his heart in the right place. Prayer is our best communication with God! Congratulations to you and your family.

i think it is normal to ask God about it, actually we can ask God everything we want but we cant have it all the time or on time, just continue praying and asking and wait till God answers prayer.

Yes, you are right. God does not want us to just ask about the big things. He wants to be a part of our whole life. Children are able to give him that much more than adults.

Amen..:) but you know we grownups have the wrong idea about what we can ask god...we tend to ask him for pretty much everything with out puting our own effort into what we want...

thats so nice. i alwasy believe that kids have the most pure heart and mind. and that is why they can do such things. we should actually learn from them. they can make our life so easy because we have made our life so much complicated.

Kids are the cutest. I love watching the world through their eyes. I love seeing how they interpret our ways of living and the way they see us as adults. That is so cute. You should send that in to kids say the darnest things.

That's wonderful, I'm glad that you shared this with us. My husband and I have been praying that God might give us a home. Our three year old daughter has often overheard this prayer and asked me if she could pray for a house too. Of course, I told her that she could. She asked if she could ask God if our house could have a green door (green is her favorite color) and I of course told her that she could. So, her prayer was, "Thank you God for the house with the green door." Present your requests to God with thanksgiving ... that's how it's done with faith like a child!

tHat is a great story. I love the way kids think and come so boldly before God. They just assume that their prayers will be answered, as many of them so often are. I think children have a very special place in God's heart.

That is the beauty of children. They may not understand a lot of things but at times, they can say things which surprise adults with their perception. The saying, "children should be seen but not heard" is certainly not true.

I totally agree. Children have so much to say that we need to hear. Their hearts are so pure and they are honest with their feelings. I love talking to children.

Earning money is not only the duty. father should take care of his kids. in his angle its correct he is earning money to make his sons life happy in future. but he should show his love now also. not in future. Remember one thisn no one knows how the future is. first think of present

I had to tell my son the same thing when he asked why his daddy had to go to work all the time. His response was that he didn't need any new toys or clothes and his old stuff was just fine. And that he would eat less so Daddy wouldn't have to go to work. If only it were that easy.

Aren't they so wonderful. That is so sweet. I bet you are just as proud of your son as I am my grandson. The fact that they want to help shows that they will grow up thinking of others. I love it.

Absolutely true...cross my heart. He likes going to church because he gets to play with his friends in Junior Church. I assume that is the reason he thanked God for his church.
