I have a cat who likes to chew my cable and computer wires and has recently started chewing holes in my husbands and my clothes. I don't understand what is causing her bad behavior. Has anyone ever heard of this problem before and got any ideas to stop it?

It might be a teeth cleaning thing. Cats get plaque, too. Suggest you buy her a chewing toy, (you can get them specifically for teeth cleaning and gum health) and some food that will make her chew and clean her teeth. One of the reasons cat bites usually turn septic is because they're carnivores, and meat generates a lot of activity by mouth bacteria. This could become an issue in your cat's general health, so be careful and have her checked if the gums become discolored, or she acts as if in pain around the mouth area.

After providing toys and other things to keep their attention, you can either use a bitter apple spray that can be purchased from your local petstore on your cables and what not, or you can even apply tabasco sauce or other hot products that will also do the trick. Or, you can always hang around with a squirt bottle filled with water and squirt them whenever they try and get near certain items.

The cat needs toys and a cat scratcher. You must provide him with replacement things that he can have.
