Intellectual Property Rights on eBay?

I am a crafter. I have recently listed something on eBay that I created out of a pattern that I made up. I woke up this morning to find my auction had been taken down because someone claimed that the item I posted was trademarked because they make a similar item (which I did not know in the first place.) This pattern is something very simple that anyone could've made up, and I really don't believe that it can be copywritten. Any advice?

It might be a fluke that you created the same pattern. But if that pattern has a trademark, there is nothing you can do about it. If you are caught selling it... they could sue you. Which is why eBay removed it as it could be sue as well. There are many simple little things in life that we could all make if we had thought of it first. That is why people go to the big trouble of taking patents... so that nobody can copy their idea. Things start with an idea. The idea is the hard part. Look at this website "myLot". I don't know who had the idea first... but websites like it are starting to pop up all over the Internet. I reckon they got the idea from Yahoo Q&A and have added the money factor to it to attract members.
