My 4 week old seems to have terrible gas pains. I hate to hear her cry & know there is not much I can do for her. She is breastfed. I tried the Little Tummy drops & they do not help at all. It is affecting her sleep. Does anyone have any advice?

With our little guy, when he had bad gas, I would hold him in the "football hold" (He's belly down, on your forearm..) and i would sit on the bed and bounce.. just the constant pressure on his belly and the bouncing motion helped alot. Also, we use Mylocon drops.. (I don't know if thats what you are using or not) we also had our little one sleep on his belly and that helped ALOT.. BUT.. it's also a much greater risk for sids.. (we waited until he had pretty good head control and then take all blankets and everything out..) Also, I would rub the small of his back alot, and that would help get things moving along sometimes too. Good luck to yoU! and just remember it'll pass..

Poor little thing. It's hard when our babies are sick and we feel we can't do anything about it. I would say it's best to keep an eye on what you are eating to see how that is affecting her. This is probably the easiest if you have a notebook to keep track of everything you eat. You could also speak with a pharmacist in your area to see if they can offer you some advice.
