What the heck ever happened to wheat nuts?!

I'm a huge nut lover. And when I was younger, most "mixed nuts" containers actually had wheat nuts in them. But no more. Is this because of an allergy concern? Does anybody know? I haven't seen wheat nuts in stores (or mixed in with other nuts) for years! :( I do see that you can find them online: http://www.wheatnuts.com/ What I didn't realize, is that according to this website, these aren't actually nuts. "Wheat Nuts is made entirely without nuts, but has a surprisingly authentic nutty taste and crunch. And it’s digestible. Even people who can’t eat regular nuts say they are delighted to be able to snack on delicious Wheat Nuts without worry."

It could be due to allergy concerns. I have celiac disease, so I would be very dissappointed to find wheat nuts in my package of mixed nuts. Does the online site have a store locator option where you could search for a store in your area?
