I tend to read because it helps keep my mind fresh, and my imagination going. Unlike a movie, a book can let you pick what the scenery looks like and what the people look like. Mind you, I have always been a voracious reader. My mom says I used to read the corn flakes box just to have something to read.

I can think of many reasons one is to enhance u vocabulary two is to pass time in a useful way there is to learn about new places and people and the last but not at all the least is to brag about them to ur friends (atleast i do it :)

People read novels because they want escape. Escape to another world or time where they can discover new things. Also, because they want to escape from their ordinary lives and burrow into a character's adventure or misadventure. People read novels because they still hold on to some semblance of their hopes and dreams. And reading a novel lets them revisit those hopes and dreams, even for just a while.

I read novels because of the insights they give into human nature. Novels can also be as inspiring as non fiction and the actions and thoughts of the characters can help with your own life dilemmas and issues. Of course not all novels are able to do this as their main purpose is relaxation and entertainment but even those may be enlightening albeit in a small way.

I read for a lot of reasons. It's something I enjoy. I've always been drawn to stories in whatever form they are told (written, film, song, etc.). Also I am a writer, so I read to expose myself to different styles and stories to help myself improve. And I spend a lot of time commuting on trains and other public transportation, so it's the best way to pass the time.

reading a Novel is one of my hobbies coz' it's not only interest and entertain me but also give me knowledge about how the human toughts, emotions, and feelings are appear in the story of the novel. reading novels also improve my Vocabulary. The reader of a novel is both entertained and aided in a deeper perception of life's problem because a novel described story not only based on human imaginations, but also based on the facts or the reality of life.
