the prices of roses

Why in the world are rose priced differntly from Texas to Illinois they say every thing is big in Texas but I have lived there and along the roads out there you could by a dozen roses for a $1.00

wow!! I live in Michigan and the price of a dozen roses is more then a $1.00 It is more closer to like $50

I haven't a clue on this one. It might be that they are easier to grow in Texas and are therefore more plentiful. If they have to send them up north, that adds to the cost of the florist.
