What's the biggest lie that you were told as a child?

Please share the biggest lie(s) that you were ever told as a child. Santa Clause was one that really upset me as a young child, because I was 4 and 5 years younger than my sisters and they made fun of me and spoiled the whole 'toy story'. Given the choice though, I would have rather been told the truth. I do not tell my kids that Santa Clause brings gifts, but I do like to read some of the stories, like "The Night Before Christmas" and watch the old Christmas cartoons.

My sisters tried telling me that Charlie Sheen the actor was our biological brother but that he left us to persue his acting career lol.

That's better than my sisters telling me I was the mailman's daughter. I was the only blonde in the bunch. Later it backfired on them because my real Father was a serious loser, so I'd laugh at them saying, "I'm the mailman's daughter!".

Do you remember Cocho (the dog with rabies) or Chucky (the evil doll)? Well when I was little, my mom said that they was under our bed & that if we didnt go to sleep or made any noise they would come out & get us. Scared the bejesus out of me!

I don't tell my kids that Santa is coming because most little kids are afraid of him anyway and I was really disappointed when I found out it was a big lie... I want them to know that I will decide if and what they deserve... it actually works better than the whole Santa is watching cuz they know I see them when their sleeping : )

I am sure it would have to be 'just drink/take this because it is good for you and will make you better'. Now I was always sure that I wasn't sick enough to have to taste something so disgusting. The other one was 'this won't hurt one bit'. Yes right as they grab you tight and stick a needle into the arm or bottom. :)
