Many sociologists and eminent personalities feel that the philosophies of Thoreau and Gandhi are more relevent now than they were before. What about you?

Today, there are no takers for Thoreau and Gandhi because the Media Hype and propaganda is carrying away the people. Sitting before the TV, people forget that they forget themselves. Then, media has its right of self expression (freedom of expression). As long as media is owned by the Capitalists, the media will express what they (capitalists) think. Why should the capitalists think about Thoreau and Gandhi?

Exactly. The only difference now we feel, Eventhough they are successful at their primetime is mere wasteful exercise. Gandhi brought Independence to India. OK, How much. There are many voices says we are not Independents. Like wise In America also slavery is not gone. Proof already disclosed by many in 'Time' magazine. Both personolities philosophies are relevant but without any use to new generations. People were changed a lot, they learned how to use otherone for selfuse. So the biggest mistake both the leaders made were using of people to a larger extention for their Image building neglecting basic education of individual self sufficiency in many angles. Till today lots of leaders making use of the people for their individual personality development.
