Best reponse to the first one to get them all right. a "+" to everyone who gets one right 1. You are given a corked bottle with a coin in it. Your task is to remove the coin without removing the cork or breaking the bottle. You cannot drill a hole in the cork or the glass. How will you get the coin out? 2. On a pool table there are 12 balls of identical size, but one ball is slightly heavier than the others, but not enough for you to be able to tell without weighing them. The person you love has a set of balance scales. If you can tell which is the heavier ball, with only THREE weighings, she will be yours. How can you tell which is the heavy ball? 3. A man is born in 1982. He dies in 1962 aged 35. How is this possible?

For # 2; First the Balls are divided in 2 sets of 6 Balls each. Now they are weighed on the balance scale. Then the heavier set of 6 balls is selected and further divided in 2 sets of 3 balls each.As earlier these are also weighed and the hevier of the 2 sets is selected. Now out of 3 balls 2 balls are selected randomly and weighed on the balance scale. We'll get if any of these 2 balls is heavier. If both of them weigh equal, the third one is the heavy ball...Hmm I tried this one first because none answered it...

Congratulations on number 2. No, you cannot break the glass, and the bottle wasn't already broken.

People DO die younger than that. The question is to be ready. So live, that when you come to die, you have nothing left to do, but die.

For #1 you could heat the bottle until a hole is formed.

No, I'm sorry. That would be equivalent to breaking the glass. There is an easier way.

Weighing 1:- Four balls v Four balls - if they balance then faulty one is NOT one of them. Weighing 2:- Three of remaining balls v Three of 'perfect' balls - if they balance then faulty one is still NOT there Weighing 3:- Remaining One ball v ANY of 'perfect' balls and if this goes higher it is "faulty light" - if it goes lower it is "faulty heavier" - QED Things become a bit trickier to explain if after Weighing 1 there is a high v low result. But, basically, you remove three from any Pan and replace them with any three from the table to be ready for Weighing 2... If the pans still don't balance ...
