Marine plywood. I'm just looking for information re it's use as flooring.

We are considering buying a house that has marine plywood (5 or 6 layered ply)laid in all rooms under carpet and vinyl floor coverings. If we remove the old floor coverings, can the marine ply be varnished and used as flooring?
