GDP & Military

Govenment hate the ideal of a shrinking population because the absolute size GDP matters for great-power status. D u tell me GDP?

The bigger the economy, the bigger the military, the greater the geopolitical clout: an annual GDP estimates were first introduced in America in the 1940s as part of it's war effort.

Due to recent tremendrous advancement in the armament and other weapons it is very difficult to relate GDP to being a great Power.As a matter of fact all the hardware like Aircraft Carriers and war ships are outdated stuff only good for wars with those countries who have nothing.
