yes, once when there was a power failure because of a terrible storm. It took 3 hours before the back up generator worked so we got stuck and can't do anything but wait. It was horrible.

yes this happened with me twice. in our building th elevator does not have a back up system and so when there was a power cut i got stuck in side for almost 20 minutes and that was a horrible experience. and the other time i was stuck with my friend in his building lift and there was only a dim light bulb . we were shouting like hell to tell the watchman to open up the gate and then he came after 10 minutes.

NO I have not..yet. But it is a terrible fear. I do have a fear of tight spaces and hate caves and such. If the opportunity presents itself I will almost always within reason take the stairs.

Yes I have once. I was a child living in a high rise apartment in New York. I was always afraid of the basement but had to walk through it to go outside. I remember my brother and I were in the elevator and went to the basement to go to school. The elevator made it to the basement but the doors never opened. We were stuck. We were crying. And our mom could here us on the top floor. I hated it, but we were only stuck for a few minutes, or what felt like a few minutes anyway. Good Topic.
