Just start online by doing some research. My husband was adopted and has issues now because he went through the foster syster. If you don't adopt from the state, know this its EXPENSIVE to adopt! We hope to adopt later on. Things to decide are: 1) Do you want to adopt domestically or internationally? 2) If internationally which country? 3) Contact some agencies 4) Look for good books to read 5) Be prepared to wait 6) Be prepared for heartache 7) Be prepared for you background to me dug into! (Don't even bother if you have a record of any kind because its not right for the child). I had researched for 3 years on adoption and we had been in the process of adopting for 1 year and were denied until we go through conselling because of my husband's past. But it has been a good thing since we are still so young.
