Our Children - Do we tell the trust when it comes to what we did at their age?

I am so confused about how to handle this one - Do you think it is a good or a bad idea to let our children know what drugs we have tried (but at the same time letting them know that's that is how we know they are soooo bad for you), or letting them know things that we did at their age that we wouldnt want them doing? I sometimes feel this could teach them right from wrong be examples thru our experiences...or it could backfire...Please help!
