What sort of cars do you think are best for a new driver. I am looking for cars right now, any suggestions?

Honda Accord or any make of Subaru; they have a good resale value and as long as you keep up with the oil changes and timing belts, they last a long, long time. We had a Honda Accord that went well over 300,000 miles and ended up selling it, the person that bought it is still driving it and it has close to 400,000 miles on it.
