Bulb for low beam headlight on a 1996 Mark VIII LSC

Paid $800.00 + to have a dealer in Atlanta replace an entire R/H light assembly due to a burned out Sylvania HID-9500 low beam bulb. Had to drive back to Florida!! My local Lincoln dealer says the part is obsolete and can not fix my left hand bulb that has now also burned out. Have found used bulbs for $200 or $300 on Ebay that came from junk yards. Have also seen sites that have a kit to change both bulbs, ballast and wiring for $600 or so (claim they are just as good) but I don't want to bastardize my car!!! Any Ideas?
