Does anyone have an idea how the authomatic trasmission works? I know P is for parking, D is for drive and R is for Reverse but how about L and 2? What is an Overdrive? and how does this work? Thanks

L is for low range, it is the area of the transmission that gives your car the most power to the rear or front wheels, this is usually only used in steep inclines or downgrades, or when more power is needed for pulling or pushing, same as 2 which is called LOW 2 it is the area of the transmission that also allows more power to the wheels but no as much as Low. Overdrive is the area of the trans mission that is used on highway driving when your speed is above 80km that overdrive usually engages automatically, this feature is designed to help save gas and allows for a smoother drive, as well as less fatique to the engine from high RPM's, most vehicles will shift from Drive to overdrive automatically after a certain speed is reached, some you have to put the lever into overdrive to engage it.
