let me put it this way........ Linux is programmer friendly and Windows s user friendly. And now linux is slowly filling up the gap and comin out with amazing user interface features......

i prefer linux

Recently switched from windows XP to Ubuntu linux. I find it works just like Windows. Plus it's free. By the way, in stead of throwing an old computer away and using a fortune to buy a new one I'd recommend installing a linux system on the old computer. Most old computers work fine with a slim linux system.

I use windows, as u said its closed source but its easy to manage, even if u hav a source open in linux we wil hav difficulty in handelling it

windows.Because it is graphical user interface whereas linux is a character user interface and hence we have to well versed in the commands.So i prefer windows.

I am using Suse Linux on my system. It is open source, free, easy to use, beautiful looking desktop, lots of softwares preloaded and what else do one want to love linux?

Currently using windows xp pro,but i'm trying linux (Kubuntu 6.10) on my notebook.I'm at the beginning,but i think that i'll can do great things with it when i'll find some good "xp-like" programs (audio and video editors,encoders etc). Cheerz
