Was WINNIE THE POOH a Real Bear??????????

I heard Winnie the Pooh was a real bear. Does anyone know if that was true. I heard a Canadian soldier brought him to England as a mascott and AA Milne was inspired by him at the zoo

winnie the pooh based on a stuffed animal owned by the author Alan Alexander Milnes' son Christopher. Christopher Robin is also based on the little boy

I dont think he was. But what a great childrens story. I have a winnie the pooh bear, here that my dad gave me 20 years ago. Have a great day there...
