How long would you consider a man and wife could stand away from each other

A lot of instances happens where one spouse have to leave the other to work in a different place to provide for the family. Like one husband have to accept a two or three year contract to work in another country leaving the wife and the kids alone to take care of themselves with the money he will be earning. How long do you think fidelity would hold in their marriage.

In our country (Philippines) its not unusual for one parent (man or wife) to leave home to work in another country. A lot of them survive their marriages for so long. Of course, there are marriages that fail. Good thing there's a lot better technology now: email, webcams, cellphones, SMS. It brings those families together, dont you think?

Thanks for your responds, you are right, we have the most strong bondage in terms of marriage, thats why we do not have devorce here in the philippines. More so filipina endures more, and save their mariages as much as they can.
