I Tried Dipping Felt.....

I experimented using felt for dipping and cut it into the shape of a valentine. The felt held up GREAT! It didn't bleed color all over theplace and cooled slowly enough that it could be shaped some before stiffening! I used a light colored wax because this was just a test drive. I would imagine that allowing the shape to harden tip down might be better than the way I did it, which was top down, but any wax that was opaque lookied like white frosting and there really wasn't all that much of it that was opaque. I used fragance oil and the scent throw isn't half bad for a first try!

Glad you're happy with the results and good on you for having a go and experimenting. I'm wondering though...did you dip the felt in the wax? And when you say "the shape of a valentine" do you mean a heart shape?

I had cut the felt in a "heart" shape, say Valentine out of habit...medical background. I had but two heart shapes and glued them together to make a little pocket that smaller items can be placed in. A couple of spots came loose in the heat of the wax but you can seal them right back up as the wax cools..gluing them keeps them lined up. I held them with a pair of tongs and placed them in the wax and held them there to allow the wax to permeate, then rotated to make sure the spot where the tongs had been got waxed too.
