What is bicycle dynamo?

Dynamo is an indispensable device to a bicycle.It is composed of permanent magnet which rotates in the middle of coils of wire which are stationary.
While cycling the top of dynamo touches against the rim of the tyre which rotates.
This rotation trsforms transmits rotational energy to the dynamo which trasforms it into electricity.

AHA. Sounds like a very exciting piece of technology. I once farted in bottle and covered it with a lid. The smell stayed in there for several days. I opened it up during dinner one night. That was dynamo right?
