Did anyone else feel that the Eragon movie was absolutely terrible?

I think that Fox totally ruined the book when they made the Eragon movie. They didn't get anything in the plot right and destroyed the unique idea that is behind the novel. I just don't think that it's right when movies are made from the ideas of books and the original idea is completely lost in an attempt to make some money.

I agree, and I didn't even *see* the movie. What I have heard was enough. Besides the major changes, there were so many little ones, too, that made a difference (a negative one). The choice of actors for the characters was far from accurate, as well... This is a movie that, if it's to be seen, should only be viewed by those who have not read the book; even then, it still sounds pretty terrible.

I didn't think it was terrible at all...I liked it. Sure it wasn't anywhere near as good as the book, but did you really expect it to be? Sometimes things need to be changed in movies so it can make sense for people who haven't read the book. I saw it with my boyfriend and we both enjoyed it, and now he wants to read the books.

That's funny that you are in the "new user" discussions. Yep, the movie was a botch, no doubt about it. I was bored all the way through it. And I loved the book!

I haven't seen all of it but I have seen most of it. They've even managed to screw up the characters visually... Arya looks NOTHING like she should, for a start. They've just killed it. Idiots. No way am I watching any more than I've already endured. Horrendous attempt at a film. They ruined it.
