Why does planet Mars looks RED?

The Mars what we see in the sky is little different than other planets. It looks red why?

The reply is simple. The scientific reason is, The soil on the mars has high iron oxide content in it. Second funny answer is may earth has slapped as mars was flurting some day with her.
